Poem: “Stonehenge” by Duncan Bremner-Senogles

Stones that have witnessed time
Trials of times and cultures past
Worn by the pattern of hands
Seduced by the love of a global audience
Silently standing out
Aloof and excluded
Ostracised and abandoned
Raped by modern times
Encroached upon by the A303
Yet standing against the odds
Standing noble and proud
Marking time
Signalling change
The victim of a harsh, unforgiving world
Admired for their longevity
Cars pass in a flash
Stones stand still
