Poem: “The Roof” by Duncan Bremner-Senogles

Crooked roof
Imperfect it lies
Rough, uneven and crumbling
You have to look and study the shape
The dimensions
The beauty of its imperfection
Crooked imperfect roof
Tell me – who hides within?
Do they match the roof?
Imperfect, yet beautiful in their own special way
You manage to make your way onto the roof
As the sun sets, you look out over the city
You take in a cityscape of imperfection
Come tomorrow this is what you will negotiate
Relish the challenge and grow with the pain
